The Most Common Myths About

Back Pain

You've Been Told By Chiropractors, Friends and Social Media That Keep You In Pain

If you have been suffering from back pain for any amount of time then I have no doubt that you feel like you have tried everything to fix your back pain.

Whether that is taking advice from your friends and family or consulting social media for what you should do.

The problem is that the solutions they have given you might provide a smidge of relief to your back pain, they aren’t targeting the root cause of your back pain!

These are some of the most common and damaging back pain myths that I hear from the women of Houston.

MYTH #1 - REST IS BEST
I'm sure that if you've expressed any discomfort in your back at some point in your life, you've been told that you just need to rest it off and wait for it to pass. However, resting alone can sometimes contribute to worsening back pain. Don’t get me wrong, as a leading back pain expert in Houston, I know rest has its place in your recovery. But it is NOT going to heal you the way that you need to be healed, nor is it a viable long-term solution. The reason your back pain persists could be because the root cause hasn’t been fully addressed. My team and I focus on understanding what your body needs, incorporating the right movements and stretches to help you work towards returning to the activities you love.
MYTH #2 - IT'S A PART OF GETTING OLDER
The second biggest myth that I hear when it comes to back pain in Houston, is that it’s all part of getting older. But just because aging is inevitable, it does not mean that back pain is or has to be! We have had patients turn back the clock by being proactive in their approach to health and wellness. Through integrated stretch therapy, we have loosened up the bodies of patients so that they can increase their range of motion, flexibility, balance, and core strength, which may contribute to a more comfortable, active lifestyle.
MYTH #3 - IT'S BEACUSE OF YOUR GENETICS
You may have heard that your back pain is because it is in your genetics, it's part of your family's history. But that is not why you have YOUR back pain. Sure if you come from an inactive family then you are going to pick up the bad habits that lead to them having back pain. But my expert team and I are here to show you that you don't have to be stuck in their ways! If you are proactive in seeking out the right treatment for your back pain and invest the time that your body needs you to invest, you can reap all the benefits of my expert integrated stretch therapy techniques.
